Terms of Service

Gridwyn is a website operated by an independent sole trader (“we”, “us”). We do not operate a shop or an office open to the public. Email is our only contact channel: support@adeltahar.shop. We answer within 1 business day, and always within 2 business days.

Gridwyn is a web application that turns a topic or a word list you supply into a printable puzzle page — a word search, mini crossword, word scramble or matching-pairs sheet — together with an answer key. Output is delivered as a file you download in your browser (PNG on all plans; PDF on the Worksheet and Puzzlebook plans). There is nothing physical to ship.

The grid layout, the placement of answers, the automated checks and the answer key are produced by our own software. Word selection and clue wording may be produced with the assistance of an AI language model. See the AI Content Disclosure.

The free plan needs no account. Paid plans require an account so that your monthly page allowance can be tracked. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or old enough to enter a contract in your country, to buy a subscription. Pages made with Gridwyn may of course be given to children — but the account holder must be an adult.

All prices are shown and charged in US dollars (USD). Prices exclude any sales tax, VAT or GST that may be added at checkout depending on your country. One “page” means one generated puzzle sheet together with its answer key.

• Free — $0 USD, 5 pages a month. No card details required. Pages carry a watermark.
• Pencil — $4.99 USD per month, 60 pages a month. Renews monthly until cancelled.
• Worksheet — $9.99 USD per month, 250 pages a month. Renews monthly until cancelled.
• Puzzlebook — $19.99 USD per month, 800 pages a month. Renews monthly until cancelled.

Unused pages do not carry over to the next month. We may change prices for future billing periods; if we do, we will email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect, and you may cancel before it applies.

Paid plans are subscriptions. Payment is taken when you subscribe and then on the same day each month until you cancel. The charge shown on your statement will identify Gridwyn.

Card details are entered on a payment page operated by a PCI-DSS-compliant payment service provider. We never see, handle or store your full card number, expiry date or security code. The site is served over HTTPS throughout.

You may cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal and leaves your plan active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are covered by our Refunds & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.

The free plan is not a trial and never converts into a paid plan by itself: it has no card on file and cannot charge you. If we ever offer a discount or a trial, the conditions — length, price afterwards and how to cancel — will be stated in full at the point you accept it.

The topics, word lists and clues you enter remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you — generating, validating and rendering your page. We do not use your input to train AI models.

You are responsible for making sure that the words and clues you supply are lawful and that you have the right to use them.

Licence for the pages you generate:

• Free and Pencil plans — personal, family, classroom and internal group use. You may print and distribute the pages to your own students, family or group. You may not sell them, include them in a product you sell, or republish them for download.
• Worksheet and Puzzlebook plans — the above, plus commercial use: you may include the generated pages in material you sell, such as a workbook or a paid resource pack. You may not resell access to Gridwyn itself, or offer a generator service built on it.

Your use of Gridwyn must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or end access, with a refund of any unused paid period, if it is breached.

We work to keep the service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance and outages happen.

Clue wording may be inaccurate and must be checked before you print. Gridwyn shows you every word and clue in an editable table before export for exactly this reason. The automated checks confirm that the grid and key are internally consistent; they cannot confirm that a clue is factually correct.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from a clue or word you chose to print without checking.

You may stop using the service at any time and cancel any subscription as described above. We may end or suspend access if you breach these terms, if payment fails, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will email subscribers at least 14 days before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version.

Please write to us first — most problems are settled by email within a day or two. Where you live in a country whose consumer law gives you rights that cannot be removed by contract, those rights continue to apply and nothing here reduces them. Any dispute that cannot be settled between us may be brought before the courts of your country of residence where the law gives you that right.
