What to write about, and what to include
A puzzle will not build
Paste the word list you used and tell us the puzzle type. Nine times in ten it is a list that cannot interlock, and we can suggest a fix.

Send the topic and the clue. Clue wording can be AI-assisted and we want to know when it misses — it helps us improve the built-in topic library.

Gridwyn is run by an independent sole trader as an online-only service. There is no public trading address and no phone line, so email is the single, published contact channel — and it is read every working day.
Before you dispute a charge
Please email us first. We refund quickly where our refund policy applies, and a direct refund reaches you sooner than a bank dispute.

To see, correct or delete anything we hold, email us and say so. We act within 30 days. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Answered already
Do I need an account to make a puzzle?
No. The free plan runs entirely in your browser — open the app, type a topic, download the page. An account is only needed when you move to a paid plan, so that your page allowance can be tracked.
What exactly do I get when I download?
Two pages: the puzzle and its answer key. PNG downloads are 300 dpi, sized for A4 or US Letter. PDF downloads put both pages in one file and are available on the Worksheet and Puzzlebook plans.
Can I use my own word list instead of a topic?
Yes, and it is the most reliable way to work. Paste one word per line; add your own clue after a dash, like “MERCURY — closest planet to the Sun”. Anything you paste is used exactly as given, apart from filtering that removes slurs and explicit terms.
Are the clues always correct?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Clue wording can be generated by an AI model, and models make mistakes. Every word and clue is editable before you export, and we ask you to read them through before printing. The grid, the placement and the answer key are produced by our own code and are checked automatically.
May I sell or publish the pages I create?
On the Worksheet and Puzzlebook plans, yes — you may use the pages commercially, including in material you sell. On the Free and Pencil plans, use is limited to personal, classroom and home use. Free pages also carry a watermark.
Do you use what I type to train AI models?
No. Topics, word lists and clues you enter are not used to train any model, ours or anyone else's. See the Privacy Policy for how long anything is kept and how to have it removed.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Email support@adeltahar.shop from the address on the account, or use the cancel link in your account area. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, and nothing further is charged.
What if a page will not generate?
Usually the word list is too long for the grid or the words share too few letters to interlock. The app tells you which words it could not place rather than quietly dropping them. Shorten the list or switch puzzle type, and if it still will not work, email us and we will look at the list with you.
